    Alert me

Butt is a traditional English perry pear, with medium acidity and medium tannins.

The pears do not necessarily have to be picked - they will fall when ripe and perhaps surprisingly will remain in good condition on the ground until they are gathered.

How to grow

Butt is a vigorous tree and a heavy cropper. However it has a tendency to biennial bearing - be sure to thin the fruitlets in May to prevent this.
