Barland is a traditional early to mid-season Perry Pear which produces small fruit high in acids and tannins.
Barland is known to be a long-lived large tree in good conditions. It can be susceptible to scab and mildew, and is thought to be a triploid variety - hence a poor pollinator of other pear trees.
