All about Shinsui asian pear trees

Shinsui is one of the sweetest of the early-season Asian pears. It also looks superb with its golden-brown skin, flecked with lenticels.

The flesh is very crisp, very juicy, and very sweet.

The fruits can be stored for about a month.

How to grow

Shinsui is a naturally precocious Asian pear, but somewhat susceptible to fireblight.

It grows with a vigorous upright habit.

History

Shinsui was developed in Japan in the 1960s and is a cross between Kikusui and Kimizukawase.
