Slavyanka is an interesting cold-hardy late-season eating apple, with a mild sweet apple flavor.

History

Slavyanka was developed in the 1890s by Russian fruit enthusiast Ivan Michurin. It is a cross between the well-known Russian cooking apple Antonovka, and Ananas Reinette, a small Dutch apple variety known for its yellow skin and pineapple-like flavor.
