Hendre Huffcap is a well-known traditional English perry pear variety, and a reliable cropper. It makes a light, low-tannin good quality perry.
Hendre Huffcap tends to be a large tree (depending on the rootstock). It will readily over-crop, causing broken branches, so thinning is advisable in June. The fruit falls easily from the tree when ripe.
It is generally untroubled by disease.
