Blondee is a golden yellow sport of Gala. It inherits all Gala's crisp sweet flavor and its productivity, but the apples are bright yellow.
Fill in the form below and we will notify you when Blondee apple trees are back in stock.
If you do not hear from us by February you can contact us in June to pre-order for the following spring.
Blondee also inherits Gala's generally poor disease-resistance - this is not the best choice for the organic grower, and is not suitable for areas where there is a high risk of fireblight.
Blondee ripens a few days earlier than Gala.
Advice on fruit tree pollination.
Blondee was discovered as a natural limb mutation on a tree in a Gala orchard in Ohio in 1998 - the apples on one of the branches of a Gala tree were yellow instead of the usual red color. It was patented in 2008.
