Pollination guide for Brandy

Brandy is in flowering group 3. Brandy is self-sterile and needs to be pollinated by another tree of a different variety nearby. Since it flowers in the middle of the blossom season it can be pollinated by most other perry pear trees.

Important: advice about pollination

How to grow Brandy perry pear trees

The main issue with Brandy is its tendency to over-crop, which can in turn cause the tree to lapse into biennial bearing - with heavy crops then light crops in alternate years. To prevent this happening, be sure to thin the fruitlets in the "on" year. This not only helps to prevent biennialism but can also improve the juice quality.

Botanical name

Pyrus communis 'Brandy'
